Pack your bags. In this issue of Global Communicator, we’re taking a look at the booming medical tourism industry. And, contrary to what you may think, these trips for treatments are not just for elective procedures or experimental medicine. Rather, the American Medical Association says an estimated 150,000 Americans received health care overseas in 2006, with almost half of the procedures being for medically necessary surgeries.
Our featured language is Thai. We’ll look at the growing medical tourism industry in Thailand, as well as tips for business negotiations, etiquette, attire, and more.
We are always looking for new topics of interest and reader feedback. Please send us your story ideas, share Global Communicator with a friend or colleague, or request to feature a story on your website.
